Legal Assistant- patent

Avata Partners is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for a full-time position with a prestigious, national law firm located in Palo Alto!

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of legal professionals and support a team of attorneys in all aspects of patent litigation. Our ideal candidate is steady under pressure, capable of prioritizing competing demands, and eager to proactively participate in training opportunities to advance their skills.

Position details:

• Competitive salary between $52,000 - $85,000*, depending on experience.

Your daily responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the assembly of exhibits and appendices for court papers, depositions, and trials.
• Organizing paper and electronic documents for use in depositions or trials.
• Maintaining indexes and organizing case files and workrooms.
• Indexes and organizes files for off-site storage.
• Assisting with document collection, review, and production.
• Preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations as needed.
• Utilizing legal research software.
• Assisting with department projects as needed and performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications for this position include:

• A minimum of a high school diploma, with a paralegal certificate and/or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. 
• Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or similar position preferred.
• Ability to quickly master new applications and software.
• Flexibility to work overtime as necessary, including nights and weekends, and travel as necessary.
