Job Description
Avata Partners is seeking a paralegal or law clerk for our law firm client in Sacramento.
Candidates with personal injury experience are highly preferred, with plaintiff personal injury being ideal. Candidates without this will still be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
A bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is required. Litigation experience is necessary, and personal injury experience is preferred. Applicants must have a strong command of the English language and the ability to use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. This position also requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF software, and familiarity with basic office equipment. Strong proofreading skills, sharp attention to detail and the ability to properly format documents and letters are required.
Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000 DOE

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Create and update medical expense summaries, medical record summaries, and wage loss summaries;
- Draft Arbitration and Mediation briefs;
- Read and summarize deposition transcripts;
- Create PowerPoint presentations for use in Mediations, Arbitrations and Trial;
- Respond to discovery, such as Interrogatories and Request for Production of Documents;
- Prepare demand letters;
- Conduct legal and miscellaneous research;
- Arrange and attend inspections;
- Prepare legal and other correspondence;
- Set-up equipment and videotape depositions;
- Communicate with potential and existing clients;
- Negotiate client liens; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
